World Parachuting Championships will officially open today in Banjaluka, where parachutists from thirty countries will compete in the discipline jump on target and formation skydiving.
Jumping on target is a classical discipline in skydiving where the jump is performed from a height of 1,500 meters. Paratroopers seek to land in a circle with a diameter of 3 cm. Formation skydiving involves an individual jump and a figure performance drawn from a predefined program, the jump is performed from height of 2,000 meters, while the point is to perform the figure in the shortest possible time.
The Championship will take place at the sports airfield “Zaluzani“and will last until the 22nd of August.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 7 pm, while the closing ceremony during which the world champions will be crowned, will be held on Friday, August 22, at 8 pm.
